General Health Policy for Children

If a child is sent home with a communicable disease, he/she can only return with a medical excuse from a physician stating that the child is no longer contagious and may be safely involved in group activities.

If a child needs to have medicine administered during school hours, we must have written authorization from the parent requesting us to do so. Medication must be clearly labeled with the child's full name, kept away from children, and returned to the parent at the end of the day. Parents must complete an "Authorization for Dispensing Medicine" form which is kept in the office. A teacher will initial the form in the appropriate area after administering the medication.

If a child displays any of the symptoms listed below, he/she will be isolated from the other children and the parents will be contacted. If the parents cannot be reached, we will call one of the emergency telephone numbers listed on the application form. Arrangements must be made to have the child picked up within one hour. Symptoms of special concern are:

h Diarrhea (more than one loose stool)
h Severe coughing
h Difficult or irregular breathing
h Yellowish skin or eyes
h Pink eye
(eye does not necessarily have to be pink but may be discharging mucus)

h Sore throat
h Unusual spots or rashes
h Vomiting
h Severe itching of body or scalp
h Fever of 100 degrees F. or more
h Extreme or unusual behavior

We invite you to become EWEF Member & Donor, to support and participate in this exraordinary effort to make our world a better place for us all. ...Yes you can!

..."EWEF believes in and practices teaching to fish rather than giving fish. We strictly promote hands-up, NOT hands-out! So please join us in this effort to make the world a better and peaceful place for us all. Together as partners we fulfil the notion given us by the 'Most high'; of doing onto others as we would like done onto us; particularly to those less fortunate amongst us for no fault of thier own but circumstance. Doing this, does hold true the notion that we are indeed our brothers' keeper!"...Edwin O. Woghiren - (Founder)
